The website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA. With every visit, Netlify processes technically necessary data in server logs: your IP address, date and time, the requested address, the amount of data transferred and information about your browser and operating system. Without this data the website cannot be delivered or protected against attacks.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is delivering the website securely and reliably. Netlify processes the data on my behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA; the transfer is based on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, which are part of Netlify's data processing agreement. How long Netlify keeps logs is described in Netlify's privacy policy: netlify.com/privacy.
When you submit the contact form, your name, your contact detail (email address or phone number), your message, the language of the page and the time are sent to this website's server, which checks that the details are complete. At present the details are neither stored nor forwarded: the form then offers to send the same message via WhatsApp (section 5). Whether you do so is up to you.
To protect against spam, the server keeps your IP address and the times of your messages in memory to slow down more than three messages in ten minutes. This information is discarded after ten minutes, at the latest when the server restarts, and is never stored permanently.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry concerns a possible contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in answering enquiries and protecting the website against abuse).
The WhatsApp buttons are plain links to wa.me. Only when you click one does WhatsApp open, a service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland, with a prefilled text that you see and can change before sending. No data is sent to WhatsApp before that. What WhatsApp does with your data is described in WhatsApp's privacy policy: whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy-eea.
Messages you send me via WhatsApp are only used to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR).
When you write to hallo@tamtarek.com, I process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply. The address is forwarded by my domain provider Namecheap, Inc., Phoenix, USA, to my mailbox at Google (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.
I delete enquiries once they are settled and no statutory retention obligations apply; if an enquiry leads to a contract, I keep the records for as long as commercial and tax law require.
So that the website runs well on your device, it stores two small entries in your browser. They contain no personal data and are never sent to me or anyone else:
The legal basis is § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act), as the entries are needed to show you the website as you request it. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
Under /demo/, three example websites show how sites for a dental clinic, an online shop and a restaurant can work. Booking, cart, checkout and ordering there send and store nothing. Only the restaurant demo opens WhatsApp on request, with the text you see beforehand (section 5).
You have the right of access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). A short email to hallo@tamtarek.com is enough.
You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work (Art. 77 GDPR).
You are not obliged to give me any data, but without a contact detail I cannot reply. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling. If what the website processes changes, I will update this policy.
